How to animate a Midjourney zoom movie with DaVinci Resolve

Midjourney is a really cool AI art generator. One of their more recent features is “zoom,” which allows users to “zoom out” of images. Essentially, you’re creating a new image around an existing image. This is also known as “outpainting.” The effect is that your original image looks like it’s farther away because it’s in the center of the new image and it’s smaller.

Most of the images that resulted looked kind of like this. Amazing, yes, but it was hard to get Midjourney to change its idea of what AI is. I tried a lot of prompts that asked for different things, and it generally stuck to this kind of visual.

I asked Midjourney to draw my dear, departed dog Terry in the style of Miyazaki

I guess it did ok. I can’t wait until AI gets better at adjusting traits on animals. I want to make more AI-generated images of my lil’ buddy.
